Justice Seeking

As a District, we are committed to growing a flourishing sustainable network of circuits of worshipping communities which are growing, evangelistic, justice-seeking, and inclusive in their outworking of the mission of God

As Christians we are called actively to do justice, show loving kindness and walk humbly with God. This invitation is at the heart of A Methodist Way of Life.

Methodists, now and in the past, have challenged injustice, worked for change and supported people experiencing injustices. As the Church in Britain faces new challenges – economic, ecological, political, social and those of declining membership – the time is right for a renewed focus on justice and a fresh approach for our Church.

What are some of the areas that the District will focus:

  • Commit to prayerful study and embedding of the A Justice Seeking Church Report’ as commended by the Methodist Conference 2023
  • To explore how the Methodist Way of Life can be used to implement the ‘Justice Seeking Church Report’
  • To renew the District environmental policy and work with Churches and Circuits on how they can work positively to achieve net zero.
  • Partner with JPIT, All We Can, and other Methodist-affiliated charities who work that challenge injustice both in the UK and globally.

So we encourage you to contact the District Mission Team to see how you can work on this vital Principle of being Justice Seeking.
