Dates for Safeguarding training

Good quality and regular safeguarding training is vital.

It helps ensure that the church is a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone, particularly children, young people and vulnerable adults. It quips Ministers, Lay Workers and the wider church with the knowledge and awareness needed to recognise the signs of abuse, neglect or exploitation and to respond appropriately.
By embedding safeguarding practices into the life of the church, it reflects the Christian commitment to love, care and protect those who may be at risk, ensuring we remain a place of trust and refuge.

Safeguardingn training upholds our responsibility to comply with legal and other requirements while modelling good practice in accountability and care. It gives confidence to church members and the wider community that the Methodist Church takes its duty of care seriously, actively working to prevent harm and respond effectively to concerns.

In doing so, safeguarding training not only protects individuals but also strengthens the integrity and witness of the church, enabling it to live out its mission in a safe and responsible way.

Therefore, Sally and Neil, our Regional Officers for Safeguarding are keen to let you know of training that you can enrol on.

Please do look at the spreadsheet document which is on this page.

Thankyou.
